The Next Urgent Need
Last year, our community came together in response to the Fierce Urgency of Now. Because of your generosity, Neighborhood House raised more than $60,000 to support local families experiencing food insecurity and economic uncertainty. Together, we made a meaningful difference for families in our community. Today, another urgent need is emerging.
Recent federal child care funding cuts have reduced support for Utah families at a time when the need for affordable child care continues to grow. More than 900 Utah families are expected to lose assistance, while many others face the possibility of increased child care costs. These decisions may have been made in Washington, but their impact is being felt right here in our community.
For working parents, child care isn't a luxury. It's what makes work, education, and opportunity possible. Reliable, affordable child care allows parents to pursue education, accept new opportunities, work additional hours, and build greater financial stability for their families.
At Neighborhood House, we see the impact of affordable child care every day. While we cannot replace the millions of dollars in federal funding that have been lost, we can come together to help ensure local families continue to have access to the care and support they depend on.
That's why we're launching The Next Urgent Need, a campaign with a goal of raising $75,000 by Giving Tuesday. Your contribution will help keep affordable, quality child care within reach for families working hard to create a brighter future for their children. We have received a generous $15,000 match from Grandeur Peak Global Advisors, meaning your dollar will stretch even farther.
Last year, you helped families access the food and resources they needed to thrive. This year, you can help make sure parents have the child care they need to work, grow, and provide for their families.
